BACKGROUND
Mr. Don Seamon was a resident of this region for many years. When he became sick, his wife, daughters and daughters-in-law (who were all nurses) provided nursing care for him at home until his death. The scholarship is being established in his memory to assist a student seeking a nursing degree at WLU.
USES AND PURPOSES
This is a $250-$500 per semester scholarship given to a full-time sophomore, junior or senior nursing student based on financial need. The amount of the award shall vary based upon the fund-raising results each year. The student must good academic standing in the Nursing Program, 3.0 GPA or higher. It’s primary purpose is to pay for tuition, fees, room and board, textbooks, etc.
Preference is given to students from Belmont, Jefferson and Monroe Counties in Ohio and students from Wetzel, Marshall, Ohio, Brooke and Hancock Counties in West Virginia, also students that pay the metro-rate tuition to WLU. The recipient shall be selected by the Nursing Program faculty.
