BACKGROUND
This fund was established in 2018 by the Tri-State Tax Institute Board of Directors to create a partnership with West Liberty University to help plan and host the annual Tri-State Tax Institute event.
USES AND PURPOSES
Disbursements from this fund will be used to support the operations of the Tri-State Tax Institute and to support the Gary E. West College of Business by providing accounting scholarships.
Criteria for Tri-State Tax Institute Accounting Scholarships:
- Student must be entering Junior or Senior Year
- Declared Accounting Major
- 3.0 GPA
Selection Process
Candidates will be identified by the Dean of the Gary E. West College of Business with the input from accounting faculty. The amount and number of scholarships will be based on income generated to the fund through previous Tri-State Tax Institute presentations and other contributions to the fund. The Tri-State Tax Institute Board of Directors will review fund balance reports provided by the WLU Foundation in January of each year to determine the recommended spend for the following academic calendar.
Applications are not accepted for this scholarship.
The criteria above, designated by the scholarship donor, denote the characteristics of those College of Business students who may be eligible for this scholarship.
All students who meet these criteria are evaluated as potential candidates for the scholarship. The awardee is notified by the Financial Aid office if they have been selected as the recipient.
