Dr. John P. McCullough Business/Athletic Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2007 by Dr. John P. McCullough. He has provided over 45 years of distinguished service to West Liberty University in a variety of capacities including, President, Interim President, Provost, Dean of the School of Business Administration, and Professor. He has touched the lives of thousands of students and is beloved by alumni, faculty and staff.

 

Requirements

The Dr. John P. McCullough Scholarship was created to financially aid student-athletes who have declared a major within the Gary E. West College of Business. The amount of the scholarship award and number of recipients will be based on the income available in the fund. The scholarship can be renewed for subsequent years up to four years.

Minimum Requirements for Consideration:

  • must be a student-athlete in any sport
  • must be entering with a declared major within the Gary E. West College of Business
  • is is preferred that the student be in Management, Sports Management, Golf Management, Health Service Management, or Hospitality and Tourism Management
  • the student must maintain their scholastic athletic eligibility while attending WLU
  • if a student loses eligibility, discontinues attendance at WLU, or discontinues participation in the sport, a replacement will be selected from the next incoming freshman class
  • priority can be given to a student-athlete from a West Virginia Northern Panhandle High School
