This is hereby established with the West Liberty University Foundation, Inc. a non-endowed fund, which shall be known as the Francis J. and Edith Jackson Family Fund.
BACKGROUND
The University will establish the Francis J. and Edith Jackson Family Foundation to help with student retention/graduation and specifically aid those students who have financial need related to family hardships like job loss, illness, and income levels.
PROCEDURE
All contributions to said fund shall be administered in the manner set forth herein, and Fund disbursement shall be made in accordance with the provisions specified in this document.
USES AND PURPOSES
The monies from this fund will be used to provide financial assistance to students already enrolled at WLU who are struggling to pay a balance on their student account or are questioning their ability to continue their education because they have been faced with family hardships like job loss, illness, or are challenged by a history of low household income. Funds can be used to cover tuition, fees, room, board, or other costs of education and assist students as needed over the course of the academic year.
Selection of Recipients
Recipients will complete an application administered by Financial Aid to validate their need for support through this fund.
The uses and expenditures of this Fund shall be consistent with the West Liberty University Foundation policies. This fund shall be administered, by the WLU Foundation in partnership with the WLU Office of Financial Aid.
