Requirements
The income from donations to this endowment will be used to provide scholarship funds to one or more students to assist them in attending West Liberty University. The annual scholarship amount shall be based upon the annual income produced by the fund’s investment performance as part of the overall return on the West Liberty University Foundation assets.
- Once the scholarship has been awarded to a specific recipient, that individual shall receive the scholarship for the duration of his or her educational experience at West Liberty University for a maximum benefit of four (4) years.
- Said student(s) shall maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA at the end of each academic year in order to remain eligible for the scholarship.
- This scholarship shall be limited to students who reside in Ohio County, West Virginia or Belmont County, Ohio during their high school years.
- Additionally, the recipient shall be from a “middle income” family who may otherwise not be eligible for any governmental assistance. The director of financial aid shall determine who is financially eligible, based upon FAFSA.
Students who do not meet qualifications for federal grants (due to higher incomes) but whose estimated family contribution does not exceed the cost of attendance will be eligible for this scholarship.
No specific GPA requirement or major field of study has been established to limit initial eligibility, but once the scholarship is received the said student(s) must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA.
If you are a prospective or current student interested in applying for this scholarship, please contact the Director of Financial Aid at 304-336-8016.
