Kathleen Armbrecht Pavlisko graduated from West Liberty State College in 1966 with an AB is Business. She went on to earn bachelor of science from Miami University and a master’s of science in Kinesiology from Pan American University. She was an assistant in the Sports Information Department at Central Michigan University and an instructor at South Texas Community College in the Kinesiology Department. Mrs. Pavlisko was an avid cyclist, political enthusiast and world traveler. Following her death in 2010, her husband, Jon, established this scholarship in her name and provided all the funding to endow it.
Jon Pavlisko was also a 1966 graduate of WLSC and went on to earn his master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his PhD from Central Michigan University. In 1982, he took the position as head baseball coach at Miami University in Oxford, OH, where he led the Redskins to a MAC Championship in his first year, earning Coach of the Year Honors. Dr. Pavlisko was a baseball enthusiast, avid cyclist and dedicated to mentoring his students. He passed away in 2013.
One player on the West Liberty Baseball Team will be awarded with a one year $500 scholarship ($250 per semester).

All students who meet these criteria are evaluated as potential candidates for the scholarship. The awardee is notified by the Financial Aid office if they have been selected as the recipient.
