BACKGROUND
Tom Cervone and Susan Creswell established this scholarship to financially aid WLU Theatre Majors in 2021. Tom is a 1975 graduate of West Liberty University and a former Hilltop Player, who fondly remembers his time on the stage working with WLU icons, Stanley Harrison and Helen Kelly. Tom has been committed to his alma mater over the years and has given back in ways including, annual contributions to the Theatre Program, his role as Campaign Chair of the Kelly Theatre Renovation Campaign and as a former member of the WLU Foundation Board of Directors.
Tom was also a WLU Wall of Honor recipient in 2015. Now he hopes to impact the lives of many future WLU students by endowing this scholarship fund. Tom is currently the Managing Director of the Clarence Brown Theatre and the Department of Theatre at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. His career has spanned over three decades in higher education while working in support of and promotion for the art and culture community. He is passionate about theatre and his alma mater, and he and his wife are proud and pleased to support future theatre students.
