Cory was a 2001 (cum laude) graduate of West LIberty State College, majoring in Criminal Justice. While at West Liberty he was actively involved in campus life, including staff writer position with The Trumpet and community activities. Cory was a member of the United States Army Fighting 705th Ordinance Company , Explosive Ordinance Demolition. Cory was killed in action while serving his country with the Fighting 705th in Mosul, Iraq on December 21, 2004.
One scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually.
Requirements: Eligible students must be entering with a declared major in criminal justice. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and be actively involved in volunteer activities in a community. The student must demonstrate patriotic loyalty to the United States and show good work ethic.
