Cory was a 2001 (cum laude) graduate of West Liberty State College, majoring in Criminal Justice. While at West Liberty he was actively involved in campus life, including staff writer position with The Trumpet and community activities. Cory was a member of the United States Army Fighting 705th Ordinance Company, Explosive Ordinance Demolition. Cory was killed in action while serving his country with the Fighting 705th in Mosul, Iraq on December 21, 2004.
One-year scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually to one student.
Requirements
- Eligible students must be enrolled as a full-time student with a declared major in criminal justice.
- Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
- Should be actively involved in volunteer activities in a community.
- Should demonstrate patriotic loyalty to the United States and show appropriate work ethic.
